Each year, the Puppentheatersammlung shows an exhibition in the halls of the Jägerhof. New aspects of the history of a unique form of theatre have continuously been revealed. However, range and diversity of the collection can only be guessed. But where is the large puppet depot? How does it look like behind the scenes of the puppet theatre collection?

This year’s exhibition guides the visitor through the secret, wonderful and very lively world behind the 13 doors of the depots. Much is there to be seen that is usually hidden in boxes and cabinets. There are marionettes, rod and hand puppets, shadow plays and theatrum mundi. Some of the things can be touched and explored. Moreover, there are scenes, props and costumes, attractions of past fairs, comic figures, as well as photos, films, posters and playbills, letters and original scripts and estates of known puppeteers and much, much more…
